Celebrating Small Groups and Small Charities in Leeds
The event was filled with representatives from a vast number of small groups, community organisations, faith groups or charities – all from both the private and public sectors, which included development experts, policy makers, business practitioners and entrepreneurs. This event was set up from the invitation of the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Jane Dawson for the outstanding work that these organisations are doing in helping individuals and communities in Leeds, and was organised at the Lord Mayor’s Banqueting Suite Civic Hall – Leeds on Wednesday 28th June 2017.
The event was also parked by other numerous activities which focused on funding with the launch of ‘’funding Leeds’’ which offered organisations the chance to meet with funders both locally and nationally, for a direct chat, including providing assistance to ways of finding funding online and going through the application process. There was also help from other organisations who provided advice, training and support on how to help run and develop local groups, including volunteer support.
