The picture of educational achievement across ethnic groups is complex, and different social, economic and cultural factors contribute to this: parental income levels, parental career and educational achievement, geography, family structure, and attitudes towards education within the family and wider community.
Raising the status of technical and vocational education, providing more school-leaver apprenticeships and offering second chances for those who do not get on the academic ladder at 16, or who fall off it at or after university, is not only a key social support net but also essential for providing the vocational skills of the future. They can provide alternative routes to success for all ethnicities.
We believe that learning never stops – whatever stage of our lives we may be at. For us, education is a much broader pursuit than the activities we are accustomed to in schools and other formal learning settings. We run numerous and diverse lifelong learning community programmes for all ages.
We not only address training and employment-support needs, but also provide advice, information and onward referrals to ensure people’s wider challenges that negatively impact their lives, confidence and ability to secure employment (e.g. benefit entitlements, family support needs) are addressed.
We are committed to supporting your learning and development especially as all of us have to find new ways of working through the Covid-19 pandemic. We’re delivering majority of all our courses online via Zoom and our exciting learning platform.
We’ve redesigned our face-to-face programmes to ensure your learning needs are still met. Our online courses include live sessions (using Zoom), as well as individual and group activities. We work hard to make sure you get the same level of interaction and facilitator support as you would in our training room. You’ll work in breakout rooms, use case studies, co-create documents, and even take part in role plays – all online.
